I have come across this number "139 " long back, but did not try this one thinking this might not be a effective service , But when I was travelling from Jharsuguda (Orissa) to Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) My ticket having a confirm status but I did not know the exact berth no and I was searching for the charts and I could not find the chart for my train Yeshwantpur - Hatia express and suddenly , the no 139 stuck me and I thought of trying it and I have sent my sms PNR 6212184971 to 139 and with in half a minute i received an sms mentioning my berth no as mentioned below

Dt : 04.09.2012
Boarding Station : JSG
Reserved Upto : VSKP

You can see above the details sent to me as SMS. You can also get Train Running Status, Seat Availability
