Sudarshan Patnaik is the Indian name which was recorded by Guinness Book of world records for his sand sculpture of Santa Claus we often hear his name on media for his sand art, He is the inventor of sand art in India, He was fascinated about playing with sand and started creating sand sculptures at the early age of 7, gradually he unleashed his creativity and passion for sand art with the help of Lord Jagannath - Puri -Orissa, Sudarshan patnaik want to spread the sand art in India and abroad , so let us join our hands

This 100 feet long Sand Santa created by sudarshan patnaik's team at Puri beach on the eve of Christmas had engraved the names of Sudarshan Patnaik and their team at Guinness book of world record for having created the longest sand carved Santa Claus.
Sleeping Monalisa painting has won peoples choice award at 3rd Moscow Sand sculpture championship in Orissa.
Lord Buddhas statue has won the people’s choice award at the world championship held in Berlin last month for his 15-feet-high image of Lord Buddha.
Sudarshan Patnaik hailed from a poor family back ground, was not subjected proper education but his passion and dedication to live for the passion has made him world famous today, he believes that sand art will soon be popular in India. we need to learn a lot from him, he is undoubtedly a inspiration to the young generation of India.
he is planning to get sand park approved by govt of Orissa, but some how orissa govt is not responding positively, hope sudrashan patnaik and sand art gets the respect they deserve.

that was a long time back... i remember he taught me some basic sand sculpture skills... i even asked my dad to bring me back to Puri so that i can learn more from him...then he used to make it on smaller scale and was not that known....it was looong time back...
