Top 4" Android Smart Phones from Micromax

Micromax has had quite a successful stint in the mobile market for the year 2012, leading the roost ahead from the likes of Apple and competing the likes of Samsung in the Indian market. If you have a look at the Micromax Price List you can instantly recognize their aggressive pricing strategy. Let’s have a look on some of their prominent models which were released last year.

Micromax A90S - Price INR 12,341

The 4.3-inch A90S is a beautiful example of looks and performance, featuring an Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels, the phone offers excellent bright display and smooth touch which is often a loose end when it comes to budget phones. Powered with a 1GHz dual-core MediaTek processor and 512MB RAM, the A90S manages multi-tasking quite comfortably. It gracefully runs 4 to 5 apps at a time which is tremendous for a phone with such features and price point. The moderately powerful hardware only compliments the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich which only leads to the availability of an arsenal of apps which it can support with ease, and with an extensible memory of 32 GB there is no limit to the accessibility.

The A90S comes packed with a powerful 8 megpixel primary camera and is backed up by an LED flash to click pictures in low light and HD video recording. It even features a secondary VGA cam for video calling on apps such as Skype and Google Plus. The only disappointing factors about this phone are its ugly and childish UI and no guarantee of further software update. This phone offers much more than its price and is quite a smart investment.

Micromax A110 - Price INR 9,999

The A110 is an elegant looking Smartphone with a 5-inch display, to canvas all your imagination without limiting it to borders. With an underlying Android 4.0 ICS operating system installed, this phone makes the affordable Smartphone experience pretty impressive. Backed up with a 1 GHz dual-core MediaTek processor the phone offers complete support for multitasking and effortlessly switches between applications. With an internal memory of 4 GB which can be further expanded up to 32 GB.

The A110 features a 5 megapixel primary camera and a VGA secondary camera but lacks a LED flash, making the phone incapable of taking pictures in low light. The phone features Wi-Fi connectivity and works with GPRS and EDGE making it flawless in this area. Although the camera isn’t much impressive and takes lackluster pictures this phone makes up for its shortcomings in the performance area. Aptly priced the A110 is another tough phone to beat within the price range.

Micromax A85 - Price INR 8,599

The A85 is a high end release by Micromax standards, the first by Micromax to be powered by a 1GHz Cortex A9 dual core processor; Nvidia Tegra 2 which is quite high for the standards given the modest pricing of the device. With 512 MB of RAM the phone features Android 2.2 which is very disappointing because the phone features hardware aptly capable of supporting Android Gingerbread. With a 5 megapixel primary camera the phone is perfectly fine to capture images and the 3.8 inch TFT screen presents them at a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, it even features a secondary camera for video calling which is quite handy. The A85 support a capacitive touch screen which makes it easy to handle and use. With an internal storage of 8GB the phones memory can be expanded up to 32 GB. Armed with Wi-Fi the phone offers seamless connectivity for social networking and even supports 2G and 3G networks for speedy communication. The phone is an all rounder in every sense and would make a perfect choice for people looking for performance but the OS is a letdown.

Micromax A84 - Price INR 8,499

-->
The A84 is a slim and quite stylish phone with a 4 inch display; the phone features an IPS panel for better display and quite earnestly lives up to its standards. Powered by a 1 GHz processor this phone offers a smooth performance and easily supports many high end applications simultaneously. Armed with Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, it offers access to many different apps and hassle free premium app experience. The most striking feature of this phone is the voice recognition Aisha, now it is not as fluid and in the race of the likes of Siri and Google Now, but having said that, Aisha is quite useful although requiring some time to get the hang of it, the A84 packs quite a punch with it. With 5 megapixel camera and an LED flash this phone caters to the requirement of every user. Available with Dual SIM, this phone is decent but the voice recognition makes it quite a lucrative option.

Micromax A70 - Price INR 7,990

The A87 also known as the Ninja 4.0 is a very real entry from Micromax to compete with its sworn enemy Samsung, armed with a 1 GHz processor which is almost the common processor configuration for Micromax the phone is a real delight. The A70 features a 4-inch capacitive touch screen with an astounding resolution of 800X400. The phone runs on Android Gingerbread giving it access and support for a myriad of apps. AISHA the voice recognition system is loaded with this one making it very handy and giving it an edge over its rivals. The phone has a primary 2 megapixel camera which is the only low point for this phone, given the features and Wi-Fi connectivity, Micromax has cut down on the camera quality which is the only glitch in the package. The battery backup is commendable and the phone is really solid but all these features would have been more justifiable with more impressive camera, having said that the phone is a winner when compared to its rivals hugely because it offers more and performs better.

Having said that these Android based smartphones from Micromax offer some of the best value for money quotient but there is still much room left for improvement. Mainly in the form of software performance and UI design as well as smoothness. Micromax should try to decrease the bloatware applications and games that they bundle with their phones. Also, they are known for not providing any sort of software updates to the Android operating system so they should try to provide at least one version of Android update and bug fixes.
