Diwali means lots of fun, excitement and togetherness for every one, But every year keep on hearing about the fire accidents and mishaps which are really miserable, So let us see the what safety measures to be taken to prevent the fire mishaps during Diwali

- Ensure that all your family members wear Fit Dresses
- Try to cover all your body parts, i.e prefer full sleeves and full skirts
- Prefer Cotton Dresses, avoid nylon clothes
- Wear shoes while firing crackers or atleast chappals, Not at all with Bare Foot
- Protect your ears by keeping cotton or earplugs and wear glasses to protect your eyes
Ensure to close Doors and windows of your house before firing diwali crackers,
Ensure you keep crackers aways from your diyas/ earthern clay oil lamps
Elders should supervise children while firing Diwali crackers
Elders should supervise children while firing crackers, because children are tempted not to follow any of the diwali rules set by you, So take care of your children and a half of your diwali is taken care of
Ensure you give children crackers which are proven and safe dont give them new model crackers or crackers which are new to market
Tips to be taken while firing Diwali Crackers
- Using big incense sticks to fire up bombs
- Never think flower pots will not explode
- Never fire up by holding the bombs in your hands
- use sparklers to light flower pots
- Do not try to collect the half fired bombs or flower pots, they may explode any time in your hands, you may collect them later
- Keep your crackers away from the area where your firing crackers
- Keep a bucket full of water or sand and dispose them in the bucket sparklers after burning them
- Avoid waiting for some fire works till the end, because they may burn your hand
- Use Glass Bottles (Beer Bottles) to light up rockets instead of lighting them in your hand
First Aid for Burns
- Run cold water for few minutes immediately after the burn
- Remove clothes and any obstacles like belt watches etc which can lead to infection
- Cover the burnt area with a clean cloth
- Consult the Doctor immediately
