How To File Income Tax Returns Online

Looking for help regarding how to file income tax returns online? , Income tax department had made it mandatory to file income tax returns for all the salaried class whose income is above Rs 5 lakh.

You need to have a Permanent Account Number (PAN), Form-16 provided by your employer and TDS Traces (statement of tax deducted at source), online banking account, debit card or credit card (may not be your own account, it can be your friends account, just to pay the service fees), you may require your bank ifsc code and micr codes also.

How To File Income Tax Returns Online ?

1) Register with taxsmile.com or taxspanner.com

2) Verify your mobile and email id, so that you can receive updates regarding your income tax efiling.

3) After logging in the website you can start e-filing and enter the personal details like address, PAN no,company details etc and then you can add details of your income, deductions, and investments like provident fund, life insurance. 

4) finally enter the tax deducted at source to know if you are eligible for refund. 

5) Pay your service charges using net banking, debit card or credit card.

6) Your form will be submitted and as soon as the your it returns are efiled with the income tax department you will receive the form ITR-V.

7) You need to sign the ITR-V, in blue ink and send it to income tax department Bangalore ( address as mentioned in the ITR-V)

Last date for filing income tax returns is August 5, 2013, But you need not worry if you have already paid the tax you are supposed to pay for the financial year 2012-2013, then you can file the returns before 31st March 2014.
