The temple has 6 Secret Cellars (Nilavara       – a  place to keep assets safe) from Cellar A to  Cellar F. Opening of each of these cham bers  is revealing a virtual treasure trove with  precious diamonds, golden ornaments, emeralds, jewelleries, rare antique silver and

Gold idol of Mahavishnu worth rs 500 Cr.

The main treasure found was a one foot
height golden idol of Lord Mahavishnu and    a  30 kg golden ‘anki’. This golden idol of  Lord  Vishnu is believed to be the replica of  the ‘utsava vigraham' used in the temple.

The golden idol of Padmanabhaswamy studded  with more than 1000 previous stones is valued to around Rs. 500 Crore. Another golden idol of Lord Sree Krishna was also found which weigh s around 5 kg.  shells made of pure gold. One of this golden
coconut shell was students with rare antique
 stones including emeralds and rubie

But how the treasure in Padmanabhaswamy was discovered is a interesting question?

The cellars  were searched after a local lawyer (T.P.Sundararajan, 70 yrs ) petitioned a court to order the government to take over the temple as it did not have adequate security to protect its wealth. The Supreme Court had then set up a committee of seven members to open the long-sealed Cellars and evaluate the treasure.

Former IPS officer T P Sundararajan, aged70, a Supreme Court lawyer who was instrumental
in bringing the fabulous riches of Sree
Padmanabhaswamy Temple under public
scrutiny, died here on Sunday due to ill health

Mr.Sundara rajan died peacefully as he was
fighting for a long time , to secure evaluate
enlighten the whole world regarding the treasure.

Our country was indeed a golden bird. I wish this treasure should be in safe hands...

yes our country is a golden bird,

whose feathers have been half removed by britishers, and the other half is also being removed by our politicians

I am quite concerned about the demand that is gaining support viz. nationalise this treasure. I think that should be the last thing to be done. Apart from the fact that politicians will squander away the money, it will be violation of fundamental rights.

I am not mature enough to comment on to whom should the treasure belong.
But you have pointed it rightly, our politicians can do a magic and vanish the treasure within no time
